
Hyderabad, Oct.8 (NSS): Drugs Control Administration, Telangana raided a medical shop located at Ananth Nagar, Siricilla, Rajanna-Siricilla District, which was operating illegally without a drug license. During the raid, DCA seized stocks worth Rs 30,000 from the premises.
The DCA officials, acting on a tip-off regarding the illegal sale of medicines, raided a shop located at D.No. 2-5-10, Ananth Nagar, Siricilla, Rajanna-Siricilla District on October 7, 2024 and one G. Raju was found to be operating the shop ‘Sri Laxmi Pharmacy’ on the said premises within Sri Durga Hospital, Siricilla, illegally, without a drug license.
During the raid, DCA officers detected unauthorized stocking of huge quantity of medicines for sale and 11 varieties of medicines, including antibiotics, anti-ulcer drugs, anti-emetics and so on were found stocked for sale at the premises. The DCA officials seized the stock worth Rs 30,000 during the raid.
L.R.D. Bhavani, Drugs Inspector, Siricilla carried out the raid and lifted the samples for analysis.
Wholesalers/Dealers who supply medicines to such unlicensed entities, who are stocking and selling drugs without a drug license, are also punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, and stringent action shall be taken against such wholesalers/dealers. Stocking drugs for sale without a drug license is punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, with imprisonment for up to five years.
