Deal signed to advance Saudi cultural preservation, scientific research

RIYADH: A significant agreement was recently signed to enhance the preservation of Saudi cultural heritage and bolster scientific research. This deal, involving Saudi Arabia’s Heritage Authority and the Hail Region Development Authority, focuses on protecting and preserving cultural heritage sites in the Hail region. Key areas of collaboration include archaeological research, surveys, excavation works, and the restoration and development of heritage buildings and sites. The agreement also promotes the scientific publication of research findings and supports local craftspeople by establishing craft houses to produce and exhibit their work.

Additionally, Saudi Arabia has signed a partnership with the Centre Pompidou to develop a contemporary art museum in AlUla. This new institution aims to serve as a hub for regional and global 21st-century art, providing a platform for Arab artists and fostering cultural exchanges between Saudi Arabia and France.
