Hyderabad, Sept.29 (NSS): Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender has made a crucial statement, stating that the demolition of poor people’s houses is not a good practice.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Danam Nagender said he had earlier cautioned the HYDRA authorities that they should not go to slum areas and demolish the houses of poor.
He pointed out that there are many high-profile areas such as Jalavihar and IMAX that remain untouched.
MLA Danam Nagender, who was elected on BRS party, but he later joined the ruling Congress party, further revealed that many BRS MLAs have been in touch with him, however they are expressing fear of facing by-elections.
He criticised BJP MP Eatala Rajender for diverting attention when it comes to the demolition of illegal structures. Danam Nagender also remarked that former minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao, who is generally dignified, has been stirring unrest by visiting the affected areas.
“During the previous BRS regime, then chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao had also stated that illegal structures would be demolished. But now, these promises seem to have turned into political games,” he pointed out.
Expressing regret while referring to a video of a young girl tearfully saying her books were trapped inside her demolished home, Danam Nagender passionately asserted that demolishing the homes of the poor is unjust and advocated for counseling the displaced families.
He further emphasised that proper arrangements should be made for relocation of the displaced families.
