Devi Prasad faults Govt’s decision to install Rajiv statue before secretariat

Hyderabad, Aug.15 (NSS)BRS party leader and former MLC Devi Prasad today questioned as to what the Congress leader Rajiv Gandhi’s statue has to do with the Telangana secretariat, which is the administrative centre of the State. “Putting a statue of Rajiv Gandhi in front of the secretariat is hurting the sentiments of the people of Telangana,” he claimed.

Speaking to media persons along with MLC Deshapathi Srinivas at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, he made it clear that a statue of Telangana Mother should be placed in front of the secretariat. Devi Prasad said CM Revanth Reddy had repeatedly mentioned the names of YS Rajasekhar Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu in his speeches.

“According to the CM, though non-locals have a role to play in the development of Telangana, former CM KCR had no role to play,” he wondered. He lashed out Revanth Reddy for not speaking about the good done by KCR and added that Revanth Reddy’s anti-Telangana stance was evident from this. He said KCR’s name could not be erased even if any number of Revanth Reddys try to erase it from Telangana.

Devi Prasad alleged that 15 cabinet sub-committees were set up for procrastination. He demanded that action be taken against those responsible for insulting KCR by not mentioning his name in Medak district Independence Day celebrations.
