Hyderabad, Jan.13 (RAHNUMA): The Telangana government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the cases registered in Maddur village of Narayanpet district and at the Hyderabad CCS. DGP Shivadhar Reddy issued orders forming the eight-member SIT under the leadership of Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C.Sajjanar.
A person named Kava Venkatesh created obscene images of the Chief Minister and posted them in a WhatsApp group. Based on a complaint filed by Congress leader Gulla Narasimha, a case was registered on January 11.
A case has been registered at the CCS regarding the recent dissemination of news that denigrates a female IAS officer. Based on a complaint from the IAS Officers’ Association, cases have been filed against two Telugu news channels and seven YouTube channels under sections 75, 78, 79, 351(1), and 351(2) of the BNS.
The SIT will investigate the matters related to these two cases. The members of the SIT include North Range Joint CP Shwetha, Chevella DCP Yogesh Gautam, Hyderabad Admin DCP Venkata. Lakshmi, Cyber Crime DCP Aravinda Babu, Vigilance Additional SP Pratap Kumar, CCS ACP Guru Raghavendra, Cyber Cell Inspector Shankar Reddy, and Cyber Cell SI Harish.
