Hyderabad, Nov.9 (NSS):Only one month back, on October 9, the city cyber crime police have clearly stated that digital arrest is not implemented anywhere in the country and advised the people not to be afraid of threats and digital arrest. The authorities made it clear that cyber criminals are adopting various methods of threats and digital arrest and people should not become a prey to such tactics of the criminals.
Not only this, the Prime minister himself had, in his “manki bath” program recently, clearly told the people not to believe threats of digital arrest and it is the cheating tactics of the criminals.
Inspite of repeated warnings from the authorities, it is a matter of irony that a 55-year old Government employee has become a victim of the tactics of the cyber criminals, and the cyber cheats have looted Rs.48 lakhs from him , through digital arrest threats. The cyber cheats have threatened him that he was indulging in illegal transactions of money and made him believe that if he is found to be innocent, they will refund the amount. After losing Rs 48 lakhs during seven hours digital arrest, the employee realised that he was cheated and then complained to the cyber crime police.
People should be aware that there is nothing like digital arrest. If they receive such calls, they should not become panicky, but immediately inform the cyber crime police.
