Chennai: The no confidence motion moved by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) against Speaker P. Dhanapal got defeated by voice vote in the Tamil Nadu Assembly today.A delegation led by DMK president M.K. Stalin yesterday met Tamil Nadu Legislative Secretary AMP Jamaludeen and submitted the letter for the no-confidence motion.Stalin has been alleging that Dhanapal “acted with ulterior motive” during the trust vote sought by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisami on the floor of the Tamil Nadu Assembly last Saturday.However, Dhanpal in his defence asserted that he was mistreated because he belonged to the Scheduled Caste.
