Hyderabad, Sept.27 (NSS): Officials of Enforcement Directorate on Friday conducted searches on the premises of Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and his son Harsha Reddy in a case of alleged money laundering.
Sixteen teams from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which arrived from Delhi, simultaneously raided 15 locations, including Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s homes and offices.
The raids, which began early on Friday morning, have been carried out under the tight security of CRPF police. As of now, neither Minister Ponguleti nor his close associates have responded to the ED raids. However, it remains unclear whether the Minister was present at his residence during the raids or if he was elsewhere. The ED officials are expected to release a full statement with details once the raids conclude.
Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy holds a key position in the Telangana government. The simultaneous raids by ED teams from Delhi on his homes and offices have sparked widespread discussions in the political circles of Telangana. It is worth noting that similar raids were carried out on Ponguleti’s residences and offices by the Income Tax (IT) and ED officials during the previous Assembly elections.
On November 3, 2023, his residences in Khammam town and Nandagiri Hills in Hyderabad were searched by IT and ED officials. Additionally, raids were also conducted at Raghava Pride on Banjara Hills Road No.10 during the same time.
