Hyderabad, Dec.10 (NSS): Minister for Agriculture Tummala Nageswara Rao has directed officials to expedite the implementation of agricultural mechanisation and drip irrigation schemes.
He instructed them to ensure that farmers benefit extensively this financial year.
The Minister held a review meeting on the progress of various schemes with senior officials from the Agriculture, Horticulture, and Marketing departments at the Secretariat here on Tuesday.
He discussed the progress of various schemes and directed officials to strengthen primary cooperative societies.
Tummala also cautioned officials to avoid repeating mistakes made by the previous government. He asked them to prepare plans to utilise funds received from the Central government fully.
The Minister set a target to complete palm oil plantation in one lakh acres by next March and instructed officials to take necessary steps to achieve this goal.
