Hyderabad, Nov.20 (NSS): Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has directed the officials to expedite the construction works of national highways in Telangana.
The Minister held a review meeting on the progress of national highways at his Ministerial residence in Banjara Hills on Wednesday.
On the occasion, he told the officials not to stop the construction works of national highways despite the difficulties and promised that he would be available 24 hours a day.
Expressing regret over the negligence of the previous BRS government which had hampered the development works of national highways in Telangana during its 10 year-long tenure, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy pointed out that the people had faced many difficulties and the condition of the roads was very bad in the State.
Stating that the national highways are the backbone of the State’s progress and these works should be undertaken without any laxity, the Minister suggested that issues like land acquisition, forest clearances, and removal of trees should be taken seriously and worked on.
He also instructed the NH officials to submit a report on the progress of national highway construction work every week.
