Hyderabad, Dec.8 (NSS): BRS party leader Harish Rao today bemoaned that agriculture sector in the State had been eclipsed under CM Revanth Reddy’s dictatorial rule. The BRS party has released a charge-sheet titled ‘One Year Rule – Relentless Deception’ on the one-year rule of the Congress party at Telangana Bhavan.
Speaking on the occasion, he said welfare of the farmers in the State was deteriorating after Revanth Reddy came to power. He recalled Revanth Reddy had said that he would put his first signature on the crop loan waiver screen and added that although he was sworn in as Chief Minister, but the oath made to the farmers had not been kept. “When we challenged the CM on his loan waiver promise, the new deadline August 15, 2024 was set by him,” he said. He said it’s not just four crore people of the State, but three crore gods had also been cheated by the CM.
He said 50 per cent of the farmers in the State had not been waived off their crop loans dues yet. He criticized the Revanth government for creating 31 kinds of excuses and evading the loan waiver of half of the farmers. Harish Rao said the Chief Minister would get angry with him for revealing the truth on the loan waiver. He has been criticized for not being able to face the reality by Rao. He said the Rythu Bandhu scheme introduced by KCR had sustained Telangana’s agriculture sector. KCR had not stopped the help of Rythu Bandhu even after two consecutive years of corona, he reminded. “The BRS government had deposited Rs 72,817 crore in the accounts of the farmers in 11 instalments. “Is there any State in the country which deposited Rs 72,000 crore directly into the accounts of the farmers? Who was the Chief Minister, who deposited this huge amount? It was only KCR,” he claimed.
He challenged Revanth Reddy to show if there was any State or Chief Minister, who did such a generous act of depositing ₹72,000 crore. Rao said the crop investment had not been increased to ₹15,000 and added that it had not been distributed to the farmers.
Harish Rao said the BRS government had started the practice of buying all the crops grown in the State and added that within a week, the money used to be deposited in the accounts of the farmers by their government. He criticized that the situation had changed when the Revanth government came to power. He also criticized the Revanth government for selling paddy at less than the support price.
