[India], Mar. 6 (ANI): A massive forest fire broke out in Kadiri, West Sikkim at around 11 on Sunday morning.

The Sikkim Forest Department sent a team of fire fighters with the locals to douse the flames.

There has been no report of casualty yet, but, animals and birds are badly affected and killed.

The village Khadiri has been in news because of its forest fires in different locations and for its dry land throughout the year that makes it a fire-prone area.

The villages closer to the forest have been evacuated and people have been shifted to safer areas.

The fire is under control and investigation is on. (ANI)
