
Hyderabad, Aug.18 (NSS): Former minister Srinivas Goud today said none celebrated the birth anniversary of Sardar Sarvai Papanna, the great warrior, who raised his voice of contempt for the kingship of the oppressed classes and added that it was former CM KCR, who decided to celebrate his birth anniversary officially after coming into power. On the occasion of Papanna Goud’s birth anniversary, a tribute was paid at his portrait by garlanding it by Srinivas Goud and other BRS party leaders at Telangana Bhavan in the city on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Goud said the previous KCR government had done a lot for the welfare of the Gowda castes. Gowda Bhavan was allocated funds and named after Sardhar Sarvai Papanna Gowda, he recalled. He also reminded that funds had been allocated for the installation of his statue. He demanded that the Congress government install Sarvai Papanna’s statue on the tank bund. He also demanded inclusion of Papanna Goud’s biography as a curriculum in school syllabus. He wanted the State government to set up a statue of Papanna in the Assembly and conduct the BC census immediately.
