Hyderabad, Aug.30 (NSS): Stating that there is a need of drafting a new policy aimed at enhancing tourism across the State, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed the officials to study the best tourism policies being implemented in other States and adopt them to suit the unique needs of Telangana.
The Chief Minister held a review meeting on Smart Proactive Efficient and Effective Delivery (SPEED) projects at the Secretariat here on Friday. Minister for Tourism Jupally Krishna Rao, Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari and senior officers of various departments were present.
The meeting reviewed the progress of various ongoing projects in Telangana.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister suggested that focus should be made on eco, temple tourism as well as the health tourism in Telangana.
He stressed the importance of focusing on these areas to attract more visitors and promote the State’s cultural and natural heritage. Additionally, he pointed out the need to develop health tourism, which could position Telangana as a destination for medical care and wellness.
The Chief Minister also proposed the development of a new zoo park outside Hyderabad, instructing the officials to draft plans for the project. Furthermore, he highlighted the potential for helitourism in areas where it is feasible, urging officials to explore and plan for its implementation.
Discussing the development of the Yadagirigutta temple, Revanth Reddy issued key directives to officials, including the formation of a temple board similar to the TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) board.
He requested a detailed report on the pending works at the temple and insisted on expediting the gold plating of the temple’s Rajagopuram.
The Chief Minister made it clear that the development of Yadagirigutta temple should not be left incomplete and should be elevated to the next level. He also demanded a comprehensive status report on the temple’s development from the Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority (YTDA).
