Hyderabad, Aug.28 (NSS): In preparation for the upcoming Ganesh Festival celebrations, Cyberabad Commissioner of Police Avinash Mohanty, IPS, convened a high-level inter-departmental co-ordination meeting today at the Cyberabad CP Office.
The meeting was attended by Medchal−Malkajgiri district Collector Gowtham Potru, IAS, Ranagareddy Addl Collector Pratima Singh, IAS, senior officials, including Jt. CP (Traffic) Cyberabad D. Joel Davis, IPS, Additional DCsP, ACsP, and representatives from various government departments such as GHMC, R&B, HMWS&SB, Fire Services, Revenue, Transport Deportment, RTA and others, along with members of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi (BGUS).
Addressing the gathering, the CP emphasized the significance of Ganesh festival as one of the biggest festivals celebrated across the State which will commence on September 7 and conclude on September 17. The CP directed the officers and staff to work together to ensure foolproof arrangements and that the festivities are held in a peaceful atmosphere without any untoward incidents.
The CP urged the public to celebrate peacefully and warned against believing false rumours on social media, stating that there will be strict monitoring of such posts and legal action will be taken against those spreading misinformation. He advised the Police staff to be polite to devotees and remain vigilant regarding peace and security matters, with special attention given to Dial 100 calls, CCTVs, and visible policing.
Cyberabad Jt. CP (Traffic) D. Joel Davis, IPS, emphasized the need for an advance, well-coordinated plan involving all relevant departments to ensure a smooth and orderly Ganesh procession. He recommended the strategic deployment of Police personnel, swimmers, cranes, lighting, and CCTV cameras to maintain safety and security throughout the celebrations. Additionally, he underscored the importance of minimizing traffic disruptions during the festivities to facilitate the smooth movement of vehicles and ensure a seamless experience for all participants and citizens.
Medchal−Malkajgiri District Collector Gowtham Potru, IAS, instructed the officials to co-ordinate closely with other concerned Government departments, including GHMC, Fire Services, Water Drainage, Medical, Electricity, and Transport, to organize seamless arrangements for the celebrations. He reiterated the importance of 24-hour uninterrupted power supply, road repairs, and sanitation work to be completed before the festivities. He requested devotees to celebrate Ganesh festival in a dignified and peaceful manner, fully cooperating with the police and utilizing the special amenities provided.
Ranagareddy Addl Collector Pratima Singh, IAS, instructed officials to ensure that streetlights, floodlights, and necessary cranes are arranged in advance at ponds and other immersion sites, in coordination with GHMC officials. For the convenience of devotees, he recommended setting up tents, electric lights, barricades, adequate water facilities, mobile toilets and medical facilities at the immersion sites. The Commissioner assured that the police force is fully prepared to handle the large-scale event, with all necessary resources deployed to ensure public safety.
BGUS Cyberabad Incharge Mahipal Reddy highlighted the vital importance of maintaining a clean and green environment following the Ganesh Utsav celebrations.
