Hyderabad, Sept.13 (NSS): GHMC Commissioner Amrapali Kata today directed the officials to make the Swachhta Hi Seva programme a success with the participation of the people. She said the program would be held from September 17 to October 2, on Gandhi Jayanthi Day.
The Central Government has focused on cleanliness every year in the Swachhata Hi Seva programme, in which the newly formed Telangana has received many awards at the national level for the achievement of Swachhta Hi Seva. The Union Ministry of Urban Housing has organised preparatory meetings under the aegis of the Ministry of Housing and focused on cleanliness across the country.
From 2014 to 2024, the program was held for a decade. The year 2024 has three main components, especially as part of nature purity and sanskar purity (4S). They are Swachhta Bhagidhari, Sampurna Swachhatha and Suraksha Mitra – Suraksha Shivari. It has been decided to take up the programmes in the GHMC in partnership with the entire Society on a large scale,” she said.
Commissioner Amrapali Kata directed the zonal and deputy commissioners to take action to ensure that NGOs , citizens, development agencies, industries and corporates participate in the campaign. She also issued instructions to coordinate with the officials of other departments of the GHMC, especially in partnership with the local representatives, to carry out intensive campaigns on cleanliness and ensure that the city maintains cleanliness.
The Commissioner instructed the Zonal Commissioners to carry out various campaigns in these three areas from October 17 to October 2. The Commissioner urged the residents to contribute to the reputation of Greater Hyderabad as the cleanest city.
