Hyderabad, Dec.28 (RAHNUMA): In a significant administrative rejig, the GHMC has transferred and posted 60 Deputy Executive Engineers to its Solid Waste Management (SWM) wing with immediate effect.
The orders, issued by Commissioner R.V. Karnan come in the wake of the State government’s decision to merge 27 urban local bodies abutting the Outer Ring Road in Ranga Reddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Sangareddy districts into the GHMC limits. Consequent to this expansion, the corporation was reorganised into 12 zones and 60 circles.
The transfers have been effected on administrative grounds to strengthen waste management operations across the newly configured municipal jurisdiction. The engineers have been posted to various circles under zones including Malkajgiri, Uppal, L.B. Nagar, Shamshabad, Rajendranagar, Charminar, Golconda, Khairatabad, Secunderabad, Serilingampally, Kukatpally, and Quthbullapur.
The officers concerned have been directed to assume charge of their new postings immediately and report compliance. The respective Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers have been instructed to facilitate the process.
This restructuring is expected to enhance the efficiency of solid waste management services in the rapidly expanding Greater Hyderabad region, ensuring better civic amenities for residents.
