Hyderabad, Nov.16 (NSS): The State government on Saturday appointed Dr. Gummadi V. Venela as Chairperson of Telangana Samskruthika Sarathi with immediate effect.
Venela is the daughter of a revolutionary balladeer and folk singer late Gaddar who played a key role in the Telangana movement with his songs and cultural activities.
Gaddar’s daughter Venela, who contested as a Congress candidate from the Secunderabad Cantonment constituency in 2023 Assembly elections, was defeated.
The Telangana Samskruthika Sarathi, which is a separate State level body, disseminates information on different Government flagship programmes, policies and schemes. It is also to create awareness and a sense of pride among the people about the unique cultural identify of Telangana.
The previous BRS government had constituted theTelangana Samskruthika Sarathi and appointed then Manakondur MLA Rasamayi Balakishan as its chairman.
