Govt reconsidering decision of allowing benefit shows for new films : Komatireddy

Hyderabad, Dec.6 (NSS): Responding to the incident of a stampade at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad,  where a woman died during the benefit show of Pushpa 2 film, Minister for Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has informed that the State government is reconsidering a decision of allowing benefit shows for new films in the days to come.

Expressing regret over the incident, the Minister said the State government was seriously considering this matter and it would take a decision to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

On December 4, actor Allu Arjun came to Sandhya theatre in Hyderabad to watch a benefit show of his Pushpa 2 movie without giving any information to the police. Upon learning the arrival of hero Allu Arjun, a huge crowd of fans gathered at the theater, which led to stampade and death of a woman. Police registered a case against the film unit and management of the Sandhya theatre. At this juncture, Komatireddy’s statement assumes significance in Telangana.
