Hyderabad, Dec.27 (RAHNUMA): Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said that in the coming days, the government will address the needs of the people on a large scale.
On Saturday, after inaugurating a 33/11 KV sub-station at Ananth Nagar in the Paleru constituency and laying the foundation stone for another sub-station along with Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, he addressed a public meeting held locally.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that this government belongs to everyone and that all resources and wealth will be pooled and every single rupee will be distributed to the people—not for looters or rulers. That, he said, is the government’s clear objective.
With all the facilities, the government has instilled confidence among the people that this is truly a people’s government. As a result, in the recent sarpanch elections, 65% to 70% of Congress-supported candidates were elected as sarpanches, showing the massive support and blessings of the people of the state for the Congress government, he said.
Criticising former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Deputy Chief Minister recalled how Indiramma houses were mocked earlier, with comments such as “where will the son-in-law sleep if there is only one room” or “where will goats be tied.”
He said KCR ruled for 10 years with deceptive promises but failed to provide even a single double-bedroom house.
In contrast, he said, immediately after the people’s government came to power, it began constructing Indiramma houses worth ₹5 lakh each as promised. In the first phase, 3,500 houses are being built in each Assembly constituency, amounting to 4.5 lakh houses statewide, with an expenditure of ₹22,500 crore. He added that Indiramma housing bills are being sanctioned every week.
He said that when Sonia Gandhi granted the separate state of Telangana with the vision that the state’s resources could be used for its own people, the previous rulers failed to fulfill their responsibilities. Instead, they mortgaged the state and its people, accumulated a debt of ₹8.5 lakh crore, and could not even implement welfare schemes like 200 units of free electricity.
Bhatti Vikramarka said that during the last elections, the Congress had appealed to the people that meaningful welfare implementation in the new state was possible only under Congress rule. The people thought it through and brought in “Indiramma Rajyam.”
He alleged that those who ruled the state for 10 years shattered the financial system and derailed governance. Despite the chaos created by them, the people’s government is continuing to implement welfare schemes smoothly and without obstruction, keeping public welfare as its priority, Bhatti Vikramarka said.
He stated that Telangana is the only state in the country providing farmers not only a minimum support price but also a bonus. The government is distributing fine rice at 6 kg per person to 96 lakh families, spending ₹13,500 crore for the benefit of the people, Bhatti Vikramarka added.
