Govt strengthening 108 services across Telangana : Raja Narasimha

Hyderabad, Nov.17 (NSS): Highlighting the significance of the 108 emergency services, Minister for Health Damodar Raja Narasimha has informed that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the State government is taking proactive steps to enhance healthcare services across the Telangana.

Responding to a recent incident in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, where a 108 ambulance driver allegedly abandoned a heart attack patient midway, the Minister directed Khalid, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of 108 services, to conduct a thorough inquiry into the matter.

He emphasised the importance of implementing measures to ensure such incidents are not repeated in the future.

“The 108 ambulance service, which plays a crucial role in providing emergency care, is being strengthened to ensure efficient and timely response during critical situations,” the Minister said.

Raja Narasimha stressed that the 108 service operates as a “Mission of Saving Lives” by delivering immediate medical assistance and transferring patients to the nearest hospitals as quickly as possible.

Stating that the aim of 108 emergency service is to cover tribal, rural, urban, and semi-urban areas effectively, he said upon receiving emergency calls, the ambulances are equipped to reach the incident location in minimal time, offer first aid, and ensure that the patient receives proper care at the nearest healthcare facility.

Damodar Raja Narasimha also announced plans to establish a robust geographical network for 108 services.

“This initiative aims to optimise response times and deliver life-saving medical support seamlessly across the Telangana State,” he added.
