Govt to launch ‘Praja Palana’ from Sept 17 for issuance of ration, health cards

Hyderabad, Aug.27 (NSS): Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has decided to conduct a 10-day long programme ‘Praja Palana’ across the Telangana State starting from September 17 for the issuance of ration cards and health cards to all eligible people.

From now on, ration cards and health cards will not be linked and separate cards will be issued. Necessary details will be collected from each family, announced the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister along with Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha held a review meeting with officials at the Secretariat here on Tuesday and directed officials to make necessary arrangements to conduct the Praja Palana programme in all villages and wards across the Telangana State.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister discussed various problems, including what procedure should be followed for issuing health digital cards, what medical tests should be conducted to register each person’s health profile, should health check-up camps be set up in villages, should we seek the help of laboratories in the State.

He instructed the officials of the Medical and Health Department to examine the details and take decisions immediately.

Expressing concern over the increasing number of cases of Dengue, Chikun gunya and viral fevers in various hospitals, the Chief Minister instructed officials to be vigilant about seasonal diseases and suggested taking preventive measures before the diseases spread.

He ordered fogging and spraying to eliminate mosquitoes in all urban and rural areas of the State, including Greater Hyderabad.

Officials were instructed to ensure fogging in all areas under GHMC and to conduct field-level inspections regularly. The Chief Minister warned that employees who fail to perform their duties and show negligence towards public health measures will be suspended.

Revanth Reddy also instructed officials to construct a new building for Osmania Hospital in Goshamahal, Hyderabad and asked them to speed up the action plan in this regard.

Stating that the Police Stadium and Police Sports Complex at Goshamahal have about 32 acres of land, the Chief Minister  instructed officials to immediately transfer this land, currently under the control of the Police Department, to the Medical and Health department and make arrangements for the construction of Osmania Hospital there.
