Hyderabad, Nov.22 (NSS): In the wake of demand made by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi ( BRS) party that the Congress government in Telangana should cancel its agreements with the Adani Group, worth Rs 12,400 crore, and return Rs 100 crore donation made by the group for the Skill University, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud has made it clear that the government will welcome anyone who does business legally in Telangana.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday, the TPCC president reaffirmed their acceptance of any entity that conducts business legally, highlighting that the upliftment of impoverished individuals remains a priority.
The TPCC chief further clarified that while there would be no objections to fair business dealings with Adani, they would act in accordance with the findings of the Joint Parliamentary Committee regarding any agreements established by their government with Adani.
Stating that it is not wrong to take a donation of Rs.100 crore from the Adani Group for Skill University, he said if BRS working president KT Rama Rao offers Rs.50 crore, it will be welcomed.
The TPCC president also questioned the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on Adani, following the charges of corruption and bribery cases against Gautam Adani in a US court.
“Why Modi is not talking about Adani. If he is arrested, our the Prime Minister must resign. Modi is not talking because the latter is also a major participant in Adani scams. Adani should be arrested and a joint parliamentary committee should be set up on the episode,” Mahesh Kumar Goud said.
The TPCC president stated that following Narendra Modi’s ascent to power, the wealth of both industrialists Adani and Ambani has multiplied significantly, alleging that Adani has engaged in stock market manipulation.
He remarked that political machinations can be more perilous than a fixation on wealth, emphasizing that there has been no land allocation to Adani in Telangana.
