
Hyderabad, June 25 (NSS): Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has reiterated that the Congress government’s goal is to create a drug free society in Telangana.
He made it clear that the State government would not spare any one, however influential they might be involved in tranport and supply of narcotics and they would be crushed with iron hand.
The Deputy Chief Minister was the chief guest at the International Day for prevention of illegal use and transport of narcotics organised under the aegis of Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau at Necklace Road here on Tuesday.
DGP Ravi Gupta , Anti-Narcotics Director Sandeep shandilya , Hyderabad Police Commissioner Srinivas Reddy welcomed the Deputy Chief Minister.
On the occasion, Bhatti also released an anti- drug awareness song and said that it was the responsibility of all to root out the drug menace that is destroying the youth from playing a productive role for the future of the nation.
Stating that Telangana police system is quite strong, intelligent and capable to apprehend the accused in drug trafficking, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the people also should realise that every step taken by police for the betterment of society and extend their cooperation to the government.
“There will be no dearth of funds for prevention of illegal drug trafficking in the State and adequate budgetary allocation will be made to control the menace of drug,” he disclosed.
Bhatti called upon the youth not to fall prey to the sinister plans of anti-social elements who lure youth to consume drugs and to earn money through illegal means.
“Youth should develop to compete with the world and the government is giving top priority for education. The State government is utilising every rupee of tax revenue and making higher allocation to education for the bright future of youth,” the Deputy Chief Minister said.
He further stated that If police strengthen their information network by constituting anti drug committees in all villages , it is not too difficult to control drug menace. (NSS)
