GSI HOLDS ALL-INDIA OFFICIAL LANGUAGE REVIEW MEET, TECHNICAL SEMINAR IN HYD

Hyderabad, Jan.29 (RAHNUMA): The Geological Survey of India (GSI), Central Headquarters, on Thursday organised a one-day “All India Annual Official Language Review Meeting and Official Language Technical Seminar” at the GSI Training Institute, Hyderabad, in line with the Annual Programme – 2026 of the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs.

The meeting was chaired by Asit Saha, Director General, GSI, and attended by senior officials including Shri Basab Mukhopadhyay, Additional Director General and Head of Department, GSI Southern Region; Dr. S. Ravi, Deputy Director General and Head of Department, GSI Training Institute; and Dr. Pramod Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General and Central Rajbhasha Adhikari, GSI.

During the Official Language Review Meeting, Rajbhasha Adhikaris and staff from GSI offices across the country presented their “Official Language progress reports for 2024–25”. The Central Headquarters reviewed the reports and offered suggestions to further promote the use of Hindi in official work. Offices with outstanding performance in implementing the Official Language policy were felicitated, along with awards for the best departmental Hindi house magazines.

Parallelly, a technical Official Language seminar was conducted in two sessions. The first session was chaired by Mr. R. Balaji, Deputy Director General, GSI Training Institute, and Dr. V.V. Sesha Sai, Deputy Director General, State Unit–Telangana. The second session was chaired by Mr. K.V. Maruthi and Ajay Nirwan, both Deputy Directors General, GSI Southern Region.

The Director General presented certificates and awards to authors of outstanding technical research papers presented in Hindi. Addressing the gathering, senior officials lauded the efforts of officers promoting Hindi in official work and encouraged greater use of the Official Language in technical and administrative domains.
