GSI MARKS 176TH ANNIVERSARY WITH BLOOD DONATION DRIVE IN HYD

Hyderabad, March 3 (RAHNUMA): As part of its 176th Foundation Day celebrations, the Geological Survey of India (GSI) organized a Blood Donation Camp at its Training Institute campus in Hyderabad on Tuesday, reaffirming its commitment to social responsibility.

The camp was conducted at the Geological Survey of India Training Institute (GSITI) and inaugurated by Dr. S. Ravi, Deputy Director General and Head, Mission-V. Senior officials, including R. Balaji, DDG (RTDs & FTCs), Directors, faculty members, trainee officers and staff were present on the occasion.

In his address, Dr. Ravi described voluntary blood donation as a noble act capable of saving countless lives and appreciated the overwhelming response from the GSITI fraternity.

The drive saw enthusiastic participation from trainees, faculty and staff, reflecting the humanitarian spirit of the institution. The camp was conducted in collaboration with the Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society (Vuppala Venkayya Memorial Blood Centre), whose medical team ensured adherence to safety and hygiene protocols.

The initiative significantly contributed to local blood bank reserves while promoting a culture of voluntary service aligned with GSI’s nation-building mission.
