Gudur blasts CM Revanth on “Gaadida Guddu” remark

Hyderabad, July 25 (NSS): BJP Sstate executive committee member Gudur Narayana Reddy on Wednesday blasted Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for stating that the Centre has given “Gaadida Guddu” (mean nothing) to the State in the form of funds.

In a media statement in the wake of discussion in the Assembly on the devolution of funds to the State on Wednesday, Gudur Narayana Reddy sought to remind the Chief Minister about the funds being given by the Centre in the past 10 years. “Forgetting the largesse made by the Centre, the CM has been indulging in mudslinging over the Centre, particularly over Prime Minister Narendra Modi for political gains,” he said. This was nothing but biting the hand that feeds. He also said under various heads, the Centre has provided about Rs 8,62,488 crore to the State in the past 10 years. He mocked that neither the ass lays eggs nor the Gaadida Guddu exist.

Giving the numbers to support his argument, the BJP leader informed that the Centre has given Rs 34,414 crores under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Rs 1,345 crores for the modernization of agriculture, Rs 1.96 lakh crores as share from the taxes, Rs 8,114 crores through the Samagra Siksha Abhiyan Scheme, Rs 980 crores to Tribal University, Rs 9,172 crores for women, children and Anganwadis, and Rs 4,018 crores under CAMPA Scheme.

 In the same way the state got the Centre Rs 2,078 crores through the pensions, Rs 8,769 crores through the 14th Finance Commission, RS 10,882 crores through the 15th Finance Commission, Rs 9,597 crores under PM Awas Yojana, Rs 500 crores for Smart Cities, Rs 3,856 crores under AMRUT Scheme, Rs 10,997 crores for Ramagunadam NTPC, Rs 786 crores for strengthening of electricity distribution system, Rs 2,438 crores for irrigation schemes, and Rs 1.58 lakh crore for the extension and development of national highways.

He said the State was provided with Rs 34,992 crore for Railways, Rs 3,672 crore under PM Sadak Yojana, Rs 1,588 crore for Jal Jeevan Mission, Rs 10,086 crore through the PM Kisan Samman Yojana, Rs 1.86 lakh crore for providing MSP to farmers, Rs 46,000 crore towards fertilizer subsidy, Rs 6,338 crore for the revival of Ramagundam Feritliser Factory, Rs 240 crore for Adilabad and Warangal Medical Colleges, Rs 902 crore under Ayushman Bharat Scheme, Rs 6,968 crore under Jeevan Arogya Mission, Rs 1,800 crore for Covid Vaccination Programme, Rs 4,418 crore under Swachh Bharat Mission, Rs 848 crore through PM Swanidhi Yojana, and Rs 1,425 crore through PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana by the Centre.

Reddy said similarly Rs 20,000 crore was given for Regional Ring Road, Rs 58,471 crore under the PM Mudra Yojana, Rs 12,548 crore for education related schemes, Rs 3,014 crore for SC and ST Development, Rs 958 crore for Tourism development and Rs 1,214 crore for Minority Development by the Union Government.

He advised the Chief Minister to study various schemes of the Centre and come up with programmes that would fit into the centrally sponsored schemes and tap the funds, instead of criticizing the Prime Minister and Union Government.
