
Hyderabad, July 21 (NSS): Guru Purnima celebrations were held in a grand manner across the State. Sai Baba’s temples were crowded with devotees. The devotees queued up at the temples since early morning of Sunday. The devotees performed Pooja to Sai Baba on the occasion. The Guru Purnima celebrations were held at the Sai Baba Temple in Dilsukhnagar of Hyderabad. Devotees visited the Sai Baba temple in large numbers and performed special pujas.
It is a part of tradition to give the guru the highest place in the society. It is customary to worship the Guru as Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara. A guru is the one who removes the darkness of ignorance and lights up the lights of knowledge. The guru is the greatest person who teaches and leads to development. It is customary to celebrate the full moon day in the month of Ashadha as the Guru Purnima. People believe that it was the day on which Vyasa, who wrote the Vedas, was born.
Devotees thronged the Balasamudram Sai Baba temple in Hanumakonda. On the occasion of Guru Purnima at Baba temple in Khammam, priests of the temple performed special pujas. In Adilabad, in Amistapur Sai Baba temple in Mahbubnagar and Saibaba temples in Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Sangareddy and Nalgonda, guru purnima was celebrated.
