
JEDDAH: The launch of the media center for the 2024 Hajj season at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah marks a significant step in supporting journalists covering the pilgrimage from various countries. With a focus on enhancing media efficiency, the center provides shared workspaces, real-time updates, and multilingual support to over 1,300 journalists. It operates round-the-clock to accommodate the influx of media personnel during the Hajj season.
In tandem with the Makkah Route Initiative and other key entities like the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the General Authority of Media Regulation, the media center ensures comprehensive coverage of the pilgrimage experience. Saleh Al-Zuaid, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport, highlighted the importance of the center in facilitating media operations and conveying messages in multiple languages.
Technological advancements play a crucial role in enhancing transportation and logistics systems for pilgrims. With the introduction of various technologies, including road-cooling technology and virtual glasses for bus inspections, the aim is to streamline processes, improve safety, and enhance comfort for pilgrims.
