Hyderabad, March 12 (RAHNUMA): The Telangana School Education Department has announced the implementation of half-day schools across the state from March 15 to April 23, 2026, the last working day of the academic year.
In proceedings issued by Dr E. Naveen Nicolas, Director of School Education, all Primary, Upper Primary and High Schools under Government, Aided and Private managements will function from 8 AM to 12:30 PM during this period.
Students will be served the Mid-Day Meal at 12:30 PM after the school hours.
The department also clarified that special classes for Class X students will continue to prepare them for the SSC Public Examination scheduled in March 2026.
For schools designated as SSC examination centres, classes will run from 1 PM to 5 PM on exam days only. On other days, they will follow the regular half-day schedule (8:00 AM – 12:30 PM).
All Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers have been instructed to inform schools under their jurisdiction and ensure strict implementation of the orders.
