
Hyderabad, Dec.4 (NSS): BRS party leader and former minister Harish Rao today filed a petition in the Telangana High Court seeking quashing of a criminal case registered against him at Punjagutta police station. In his petition, he alleged that the case was registered against him on the basis of a complaint lodged with political motives and added that false cases were being filed against him to tarnish his image. He urged the High Court to issue a stay order instructing the police concerned to not to go ahead in the case.
A case has been registered against Harish Rao on the basis of a complaint lodged by Siddipet Congress leader Chakradhar Goud. The Punjagutta police had registered the case against Harish Rao on December 1. Chakradhar complained that Harish Rao had tapped his phone and harassed him. The Panjagutta police also included the name of former task force DCP Radhakrishnan Rao along with Harish Rao in the FIR.
Harish Rao also sought quashing of the case and a direction to the police not to arrest him. It is to be noted that the phone tapping case in Telangana had created a sensation. It is alleged that the phones of the Opposition party leaders and officials were tapped during the BRS party’s regime. Several key officials have already been arrested in the case.
