Sangareddy, Nov.21 (NSS): Former minister Harish Rao has lashed out at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress government. He participated in the installation ceremony of Peddamma’s statue at Masanpally in Andol mandal on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said Revanth Reddy had announced that nine promises would be implemented for farmers at the Warangal Farmers Declaration meeting. “Have you been able to fulfil any of these promises,” he asked. He alleged that the Congress government had failed to waive off farm loans simultaneously. He said the Congress government in the State had completely failed in the purchase of paddy.
“The Congress government has failed to provide support price to farmers and provide investment assistance. Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has announced that 90 lakh metric tonnes of paddy will be procured in the State. On the other hand, what is the point of the Civil Supplies Commissioner announcing that 70 lakh metric tonnes of paddy will be purchased,” he asked. He demanded to know where 20 lakh metro tonnes of paddy had gone in between and added that half of the grain produced by the farmers had gone to the middlemen. Farmers are suffering due to the negligence of the government, he said.
He criticized the State government for looting Dalit and Tribals assigned lands by promising them pattas. He alleged that CM Revanth Reddy was trying to hand over the land to his followers for the construction of a pharma company and claimed that illegal cases were being registered against BRS party working president KTR for questioning the failures of the government. “The CM is opening up blackmail politics. Revanth Reddy has made a false allegation against me that I had grabbed irrigation lands near Ranganayaka Sagar,” he said.
He said 13 acres of land of the farmers were purchased through Dharani and was registered by him. “In my history, I have never taken a pit, an acre of irrigation land or government land. I am in possession of the land on which I have registered my name. When will you come back, Revanth Reddy? Let’s do the survey in your presence,” Harish Rao dared. He made it clear that he would continue to question Revanth on behalf of the farmers and on behalf of the BRS party.
