Hyderabad, Sept.6 (NSS): Former minister Harish Rao has criticized that murders had become a routine practice in the State. “During the nine months of Congress rule, 1,900 cases of sexual assault on women took place. Even though the Chief Minister holding Home department, everyday, there are two murders and four rapes,” he alleged.
Harish Rao led by the party MLAs Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Sabitha Indra Reddy, Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, MLA Kova Lakshmi and Mutha Gopal visited the tribal woman who was undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital. Harish Rao said women were not safe under the Congress party’s rule. He demanded that the government pay a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for each victim.
He said “She teams were formed for the protection of women during the BRS party’s regime. For the last 10 years, KCR has ruled Telangana wonderfully. Security has been strictly implemented. Now they are tarnishing the brand image of Hyderabad,” he said, adding that the prestige of the Sate was being tarnished by such issues. “Smuggled weapons are emerging in the State. Once upon a time, there were country-made guns in Bihar. They are ruling in Telangana. The Union Home Ministry should intervene and strengthen the defence system in the State,” he said.
He criticized that illegal cases were being filed if questioned by the Opposition party leaders. He alleged that the government was not allowing the police to work. He accused the government of carrying out fake encounters in the State. He alleged that the government had failed to provide flood disaster assistance, law and order, loan waiver and ruined the education system. “Revanth Reddy has failed as Chief Minister. He has left the administration to the wind except harassing the Opposition and filing illegal cases,” he added. He also wondered whether CM Revanth was not getting time to meet the women.
Meanwhile, former minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said there was no protection for women in the State. “Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is not even responding when women are being attacked. There is no security and no assurance for women in Hyderabad. To resolve such cases and ensure speedy justice to the victims, Fast-track courts should be set up,” Sabitha Indra Reddy said.
