Harish Rao slams Revanth govt

Hyderabad, Nov.12 (NSS)Senior BRS party leader, former minister and the party MLA Harish Rao has come down heavily on the Revanth Reddy government on his ‘X’ platform. He alleged that the State government’s attitude was inhuman towards the farmers of Lagacharla village. He demanded the immediate release of the residents of Lagacharla.

“Around 300 policemen reached Lagacharla village and arrested the villagers. It is not right to try to threaten those who have refused to give away their lands for the establishment of a pharma company. It is not right for the government to resort to violence with the police in the middle of the night. We condemn the attitude of the government and we want to know the intention of Revanth Reddy behind taking up land acquisition without taking public opinion,” Rao said.

He demanded that the Chief Minister immediately stop the land acquisition being carried out for personal gains. Harish Rao once again demanded immediate release of the villagers and farmers who are in police custody. Harish Rao said Telangana rule had  become like a stone in the hands of a coward and added that it had now fallen on the farmers of Vikarabad. He claimed that the farmers had shown their anger, which they had towards CM Revanth Reddy against the Vikarabad district Collector.

He recalled that 15,000 acres of land was acquired during former CM KCR’s tenure for a pharma city near Hyderabad and all permissions were obtained. He said it was not right to put up the pharma company in green fields. He alleged that the CM had brought up the issue with a conspiracy to use the land acquired for the pharma city for his real estate business. He also alleged that cotton purchases in the State had come to a standstill due to the failure of the Congress government.

He criticized that the credit of bringing the farmers of Telangana to the plight of not being able to sell the cultivated crop at the minimum support price belongs to the ruling Congress party. “If the owners of the ginning mills announced that they would not buy cotton in protest against the attitude of the CCI and the State government, it would be a shame not to solve the problem. The Chief Minister, who is participating in the election campaigning in neighboring States, doesn’t have time to care about the problems of the farmers in the State,” he mocked.

Meanwhile, Harish criticized that issuing memos to 30 Excise CIs stating that the liquor sales target was not reached shows the weakness of the ruling Congress government.
