Hyderabad, Dec.10 (RAHNUMA): Former Minister and BRS MLA T. Harish Rao launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over what he termed a complete failure of the recently held Global Summit in Telangana, branding it a public relations stunt aimed at diverting attention from two years of failed governance.
Harish Rao criticised the summit’s extravagance, questioning the enormous public expenditure with no tangible return in the form of investments or employment. “Revanth Reddy is claiming to build a fourth city with lakhs of crores, but doesn’t even have ₹1,000 a month to offer poor auto workers. This is the height of hypocrisy,” he said.
He ridiculed the so-called “Vision Document” released at the summit, stating it lacked both vision and mission. “It’s not a Vision Document, it’s a ‘Visionless’ bundle of meaningless numbers, flashy pages, and empty promises. There is no seriousness or sanctity in it,” he remarked.
The BRS MLA accused the Congress government of repackaging real estate scams under the guise of industrial development. “The Global Summit wasn’t a genuine investment meet. It looked more like a real estate expo to push benami land deals near the Pharma City under the ‘Future City’ project,” he alleged.
He stated that despite massive promotions and international tours by Revanth Reddy and Ministers over the last two years, the state has seen no real investments or job creation.
“You claimed to bring in ₹5 lakh crore worth investments through this summit. But how many companies have started operations on the ground? How many youth from Telangana got jobs? If you have the courage, release a white paper on all your foreign tours and summits,” he challenged.
Harish Rao listed past investment claims made by the Chief Minister and Ministers in Davos, the AI Global Summit, and visits to the US, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Australia — all of which, he said, yielded zero results.
“Not a single Chief Minister attended the summit, despite tall claims that 18 would participate. Even Congress MPs and senior AICC leaders stayed away. In the end, MBA students and party workers were dressed up and seated to fill the venue,” he said.
The BRS MLA alleged that massive behind-the-scenes land scams and secret deals were being carried out in the name of MoUs. “This is a political show to dupe the public and enable looting,” Harish Rao stated.
Further, he accused the Revanth Reddy government of betraying Rahul Gandhi’s anti-crony capitalism stance. “While Rahul Gandhi accuses Ambani and Adani of looting the country, Revanth Reddy is rolling out the red carpet for them in Telangana,” the BRS MLA said.
Harish Rao said the presence of Tony Blair and D. Subbarao at the summit only highlighted the development achieved under the leadership of former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao.
“Tony Blair praised Telangana as a model state. Subbarao said Telangana under KCR led the country in growth. This is a slap in the face for Revanth Reddy, who regularly belittles KCR’s achievements,” he said.
Harish questioned the contradiction between the Congress government’s so-called decentralised industrial vision and the concentration of projects in the Hyderabad region. He blamed poor policies for pharma companies shifting from Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh, citing Sigachi Industries and Virupaksha Organics as recent examples.
He also criticised the deteriorating law and order situation, noting that while global investors were being hosted, brutal daylight murders were occurring on Hyderabad’s roads.
