Harish slams govt over farmers’ suicides

Hyderabad, July 4 (NSS)Former minister and Siddipet MLA Harish Rao today lashed out at the Congress government in the State. He said in Telangana, farmer suicides and suicide attempts were routine, but the Congress government did not have time to care for them. Harish Rao tweeted these remarks on his twitter handle.

He said in Khammam district, a farmer died after consuming pesticide the other day and added that another farmer attempted suicide in CM  Revanth Reddy’s home district on Wednesday as he was upset that he was not being able to solve his problem. “Even before the two incidents could be forgotten, another farmer in Aliya Tanda of Karepalli mandal in Khammam district was ready to die after consuming pesticide. It is sad that the government has not tried to prevent farmers’ suicides and solve their problems. This government is not interested in the welfare of the farmers who are taking care of the defections. Seven months of Congress rule has brought back the miserable conditions in which the herds of worms are growing for the farmers,” he said.

Harish Rao said on behalf of the BRS party, he said the government should at least respond now and solve the problems of the farmers immediately. (NSS)
