Hyderabad, Aug.21 (NSS): Former minister Harish Rao today urged Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka to pay the arrears of surrender leave of police constables in the State. He said it was sad that the money given under surrender and additional surrender leave benefit to the police constables in the State had been given to only a few districts and not to some other districts.
“The surrender and additional surrender leave benefits for nearly 6,000 constables in Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Medak, Sangareddy and Siddipet districts of the State have been pending for the last eight months,” Harish Rao said and added that the police and the petrol pump owners were also facing difficulties as the petrol and diesel bills had not been paid to them for months.
He asked the State government as to why was there so much discrimination against them? “Aren’t they a part of the State police? Why is there so much bias in the same department? This is hurting their morale. They are not able to come out because they are a uniform service. I am bringing their issue to your notice and demanding immediate release of pending dues,” Harish Rao said. He wrote an open letter to deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and urged him to solve the problems of the police constables.
