HMRL MD urges Chartered Accountants to drive economic growth with ethics and innovation

Hyderabad, July 6 (INN): Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMRL) Managing Director NVS Reddy called on Chartered Accountants to play a crucial role in India’s economic development by upholding ethics, commitment, and innovation.

Addressing the CA Day celebrations held in a hotel here on Saturday, he emphasised the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and data analytics on all professions and advised CAs to embrace digital technologies to position Indian cities as global accounts processing hubs.

NVS Reddy highlighted that high ethical standards and rigorous auditing practices are essential to prevent corruption and fraud, thereby ensuring financial integrity. This, he stated, is vital for attracting substantial foreign and domestic investments necessary for infrastructure and industrial development. He pointed out that AI and Machine Learning could enhance transparency and efficiency in corporate operations, citing examples of how digital technologies and fintech innovations have accelerated stock market activities and banking transactions. He praised the rapid adoption of digital payments by ordinary Indians, surpassing the uptake in developed countries.

Discussing the engineering and financial innovations achieved in the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, NVS Reddy informed the attendees that no other city in the world has constructed a $3 billion, 69 km Metro Rail project under the public-private partnership (PPP) model as Hyderabad has. He encouraged Chartered Accountants to dream big, innovate, and create world-class accounting firms in India.

Other notable speakers included Regional Passport Officer and CA J Snehaja, past President of the Chartered Accountants Association CA Devaraja Reddy, CA MP Vijay Kumar, and CA Lakshmi Reddy, who also addressed the gathering. (INN)
