I am voice of Telangana people, not operated by anyone: Kavitha

Hyderabad, Dec.24 (RAHNUMA): Telangana Jagruthi President K. Kavitha asserted that she is the true voice of the people of Telangana and categorically rejected allegations that she is being operated by anyone.

Speaking to the media in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district on Wednesday, she clarified that Jagruthi is not an organisation formed due to differences with the BRS, but a people’s movement that has been active for 19 years, consistently fighting for Telangana’s language, culture, traditions, and public causes.

Kavitha stated that no reason was communicated to her for her suspension from the BRS, and made it clear that she would never compromise on her self-respect under any circumstances.

While acknowledging that mistakes were committed during the BRS regime, she accepted moral responsibility for the period she was part of the party and apologized to the people wherever injustice had occurred.

Strongly criticising the RRR project, Kavitha alleged that road alignments are being changed repeatedly to protect the lands of influential individuals, while poor farmers are being pushed into distress. She pointed out that despite High Court orders, alignments continue to be altered due to corruption.

The Jagruthi President announced that Jagruthi will launch an online movement on this issue and organise a round table meeting with affected farmers in Hyderabad on January 5.

Highlighting irrigation failures, she said that not even a single drop of water has reached farmers through the Baswapur reservoir under the Pranahita–Chevella project, despite massive land acquisition. She demanded immediate completion of canals, fair compensation to displaced farmers, and strict accountability of officials.

She strongly criticised the government for failing to release fee reimbursement, stating that poor students are being humiliated by college managements due to unpaid fees.

Kavitha reiterated that Jagruthi is not a platform for electoral politics, but a movement committed to addressing people’s issues. She stated that elections are expected in 2029 and confirmed that Jagruthi will contest at that time. Until then, she said, the organisation will continue to build a strong cadre and relentlessly fight for justice for farmers, students, workers, and marginalised communities across Telangana.
