Hyderabad, Dec.17 (RAHNUMA): The International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT, Hyderabad), through its Division of Flexible Learning (DFL), has launched a 12-week online certificate program titled “Engineering Agentic AI Systems: Agentic AI from Concepts to Practice.”
The hands-on program aims to equip learners with practical skills to design, build, test, and deploy agentic AI systems for real-world applications. It will be delivered by Prof. Karthik Vaidhyanathan, Assistant Professor at IIIT Hyderabad and a noted researcher in AI and Software Engineering.
Speaking at the launch, Prof. Sandeep Shukla, Director, IIIT Hyderabad, said the initiative reflects the institute’s commitment to expanding access to high-quality AI education. He noted that agentic AI represents a major shift in orchestrating transformer-based models into complex, parallel workflows capable of automating end-to-end business processes.
Prof. Venkatesh Choppella, Associate Dean, Division of Flexible Learning, said the program blends emerging AI concepts with robust engineering practices, enabling learners worldwide to build scalable and reliable intelligent systems.
Highlighting the course focus, Prof. Karthik Vaidhyanathan said the program emphasizes a system-centric approach to AI, where engineering rigor is as critical as model performance, ensuring real-world deployability.
As for the program highlights, it will be 12 weeks duration (fully online), curriculum includes four modules covering foundations, design, implementation and operations of agentic AI systems.
Basic programming knowledge is preferred for eligibility. Applications are now open and will close on December 29 this year. More details are available at https://dfl.iiit.ac.in/programs/aai
