Hyderabad, June 30 (NSS):Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu today said he was not against English language. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually released three books on Venkaiah Naidu’s life at an event held in Gachibowli here.
Speaking on the occasion, Venkaiah Naidu said the government’s instructions should be in the respective regional languages. He suggested that priority should be given to the remaining languages only after the teaching of the mother tongue. Naidu said the Central government was promoting mother tongues and termed as a great thing. Stating that Training programmes should be intensified to enhance the skills of the youth, he suggested that free ration rice should be provided as long as there are poor people in the country. Naidu said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was serving the people with the slogan of ‘Reform, Perform, Transform’.
“Those who are elected to the legislatures should behave with dignity. Leaders can switch parties if they don’t like the ideology. You have to leave the post that came through the party. Leaders should frame a code of conduct for activists. We should try to bring accountability in politics. In politics, the influence of caste and money should be reduced and the quality should be seen and the leaders should be voted for. If there is no change, democracy will be weakened. If we want to uphold the country’s image, we have to stop the bad trends,” Naidu said. (NSS)
