Indigenous Artillery Command Boost: AHSP of CCPT handed over at Medak Ordnance Factory

Hyderabad, Feb.28 (RAHNUMA): In a key boost to India’s indigenous defence capability, the Authority of Holding Sealed Particulars (AHSP) of the Carrier Command Post Tracked (CCPT) vehicle was formally transferred on February 27 at Ordnance Factory Medak (OFMK)

The CCPT, designed by Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment under Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is a highly mobile command vehicle built on an extended BMP-2 chassis for deployment alongside self-propelled artillery guns.

With the AHSP now designated to CQA (ICV) under the Directorate General of Quality Assurance, the move paves the way for the delivery of 41 production vehicles to the Indian Army by March 2026. The platforms will operate in coordination with K9 Vajra SP guns in forward areas.

Jointly manufactured by OFMK and Bharat Electronics Limited, the CCPT integrates the i3CAT system to provide a fully mobile command post solution at both regimental and battery levels.

The transfer marks a significant milestone in strengthening India’s self-reliance in advanced artillery command and control systems. The AHSP transfer marks a significant advancement in India’s drive for defence self-reliance and enhanced battlefield command capabilities.
