Jagan condemns TDP attacks in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad, June 6 (INN): YSR Congress Party leader and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed deep concern over the recent attacks by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), stating that they have created a fearful atmosphere across Andhra Pradesh.

In a post on the microblogging site ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Jagan accused TDP gangs of causing widespread chaos even before the new government was officially formed.

“There is a very scary atmosphere with the Telugu Desam Party attacks all over the state. Even before the formation of the government, the TDP gangs are on a rampage. Government and private properties like village panchayats are being destroyed everywhere. Leaders and workers of YSRCP are left unprotected. The police system has become dull due to the pressures of the ruling party. The peace and security that had been strong for the past five years has been completely disrupted,” Jagan alleged.

Jagan appealed to the Governor of the state to immediately intervene and protect the lives and properties. He said he would stand with every activist and social media soldier who has suffered due to TDP attacks.

The YSRCP leader’s comments come in the wake of a significant electoral defeat for his party in the recent state assembly elections, the results of which were released on Tuesday. YSRCP won only 11 out of the 175 assembly seats. In contrast, the TDP secured a landslide victory, winning 135 seats. The Telugu Desam Party—Jana Sena—BJP alliance won 164 seats.

Following the defeat, Jagan resigned from his position as Chief Minister. It is expected that TDP leader N. Chandrababu Naidu will be sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on the 12th of this month. (INN)
