Hyderabad, Oct.18 (NSS): Congress senior leader and MLC Jeevan Reddy has criticised BRS leaders for allegedly inciting displaced people and creating unrest to hinder the Musi rejuvenation project.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday, the Congress MLC accused them of stalling the project for political gains and expressed his anger over former minister T Harish Rao’s challenge to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, urging him to visit the Mallanna Sagar and Musi affected areas.
Jeevan Reddy stated that the Congress party had always stood by the displaced and the people of Mallanna Sagar had not forgotten the injustices inflicted on them by KCR’s government.
He also questioned Harish Rao’s earlier promises, particularly asking what had happened to the commitment of turning the polluted waters of Hussain Sagar into clean, coconut water-like quality.
Jeevan Reddy further questioned Harish Rao’s objections to the Musi project, wondering why he had not provided any constructive suggestions to the government on the river’s rehabilitation.
He also clarified that the State government had already relocated many displaced people from the Musi area and was working on providing rehabilitation within the buffer zones.
Jeevan Reddy criticised the BRS for stirring unnecessary controversy on the matter and accused the party of failing to deliver on its election promises during its 10 years of rule and of exploiting Telangana’s resources.
