Achampet, Nov.3 (NSS): Minister for Tourism Jupally Krishna Rao has expressed strong criticism of the ten-year rule of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and alleged that the previous government pushed Telangana into a debt trap.
During his visit to Achampet in Nagarkurnool district on Sunday, Jupally Krishna Rao spoke to the media and said that due to the debts and mismanagement by the previous BRS government, the State was now burdened with monthly debt repayments of Rs.6,000 crore.
He pointed out that additional loans are now being taken merely to service these interest payments.
The Minister also alleged that the previous administration sold the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR) on a 35-year lease to fund the Rythu Bharosa scheme.
He stated that, despite inheriting a debt-ridden State, the current Congress government is implementing the farm loan waiver amounting to Rs.18,000 crore without discontinuing any of the previous schemes.
Jupally Krishna Rao further stated that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is committed to execute six guarantees announced before the elections and is working relentlessly for the development of Telangana State.
