Jupally challenges BRS for debate on farmers’ issues

Hyderabad, March 26 (NSS): Minister for Excise and Tourism Jupally Krishna Rao has challenged former minister and  BRS MLA Harish Rao to come for a discussion on the issues of farmers.

Speaking at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Krishna Rao along with Congress MLAs Eerlapalli Shankar and Kasireddy Narayana Reddy said that he was ready to discuss the issues of farmers and asked BRS MLA Harish Rao to announce the date and time for conducting the debate.

The Minister alleged that the BRS government had looted the State treasury for ten years and also destroyed every sector in Telangana.

Responding to the warning call given by Harish Rao who said that the BRS will launch an agitation in support of the farmers and even lay siege to the Secretariat If the government does not take immediate action,  Krishna Rao said that the BRS leaders didn’t have any rights to speak about farmers as the previous BRS government was responsible for the water crisis being prevailed in Telangana.

“Former chief minister K Chandrashekar had launched the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme without digging canals. Moreover, he was silence when the Andhra Pradesh government was illegally drawing water from the Srisailam project. When there was a scanty rainfall in last year, why the BRS government was not maintained sufficient water levels in the reservoirs. The Congress government didn’t bring drought situation in Telangana and it came to power only after the completion of rainy season,”  Krishna Rao pointed out.

He further stated that the State government is conducting the enumeration on crops damage and it is ready to give compensation to farmers after the completion of formalities.

“BRS leaders are doing dramas only for the sake of Parliament elections. Really, they don’t have any love and affection towards farmers,” Jupally said.

He further alleged that about 6,000 farmers had committed suicide for the last ten years, but the previous BRS government didn’t give compensation to any farmer. (NSS)
