Hyderabad, Dec.5 (NSS): BRS party MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy has been arrested by the city police today. On Wednesday, Banjara Hills CI Raghavendra lodged a complaint alleging that Kaushik Reddy had obstructed him from discharging his duties. A case has been registered against Kaushik Reddy and 20 of his associates in the issue. On Thursday morning, police reached Kaushik’s residence in Kondapur and arrested him. From there, he was shifted to Banjara Hills police station.
Earlier, former ministers Harish Rao and Jagadish Reddy along with a large number of the BRS party activists reached Kaushik Reddy’s residence. Harish Rao tried to enter his house but was stopped by the police. The party activists tried to jump over the gates of the house. Harish Rao was taken into custody by the Gachibowli police and taken away from there. The activists tried to stop the vehicle carrying Harish Rao.
Kaushik Reddy was later arrested by the police after shifting Harish Rao from his house. There was tension at the house of Kaushik Reddy due to his arrest. The agitating BRS party leaders were taken into custody and taken to various police stations by the cops.
Kaushik Reddy has been booked under various sections of the newly enacted BNS Act.
