Hyderabad, Dec14(RAHNUMA): Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Sunday accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of spending Rs.10 crore of Singareni Collieries funds on a football match, calling it ‘one hour of entertainment at the cost of workers’ money’.
Addressing the media here, Kavitha questioned what benefit Telangana gained from the CM’s football match with soccer star Lionel Messi?, and demanded that the Congress party return the Rs.10 crore to Singareni. She alleged misuse of workers’ funds and said the expenditure was unjustified.
. Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Hyderabad to watch the match, Kavitha remarked that the Congress leader should have instead visited the historic Chikkadpally Library.
On this occasion, Kavitha also criticised the recent reorganisation of municipal divisions in Hyderabad, terming it ‘unscientific’. She alleged that the city continues to suffer from poor public transport, drainage and drinking water facilities. Claiming several civic issues came to light during her city tour, she said Telangana Jagruthi would continue its fight for their resolution.
