Kavitha’s arrest is an election stunt: CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad, March 16 (INN): Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has labelled the arrest of BRS MLC K Kavita as an election stunt of the BRS party.

Addressing a press conference on the occasion of his 100th day in power, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy provided a detailed account of his government’s actions in the last 100 days and criticized the opposition BRS on various issues.

Commenting on Kavita’s arrest, Revanth Reddy likened the Delhi Liquor case to a never-ending TV serial episode, stating that Kavita’s arrest, just 24 hours before the declaration of Lok Sabha elections, clearly indicates an election ploy. He alleged that the BRS and the BJP sought to benefit politically from this arrest to gain sympathy and votes. Revanth Reddy pointed out that Chandrashekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, was absent during Kavita’s arrest, questioning the implications of this silence. He criticized Rao for neither condemning his daughter’s arrest nor explaining it to the public.

Furthermore, Revanth Reddy accused both the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Modi’s government of visiting the state together, alleging a political agenda aimed at damaging the Congress. He highlighted the unfulfilled promises made under the Modern State Organization Act and the lack of approval for metro expansion works in Hyderabad. Revanth Reddy questioned Chandrashekhar Rao and Modi’s PM Modi’s silence regarding the arrest, insinuating political collusion.

He criticized the Modi government for failing to investigate corruption allegations during Rao’s 10-year tenure, particularly regarding the Kaleswaram project. Despite claims of rigging and irregularities, no inquiry was initiated by Modi’s government, unlike the state government’s judicial investigations. Revanth Reddy warned that any attempt by BRS and BJP to overthrow the Congress government would fail, asserting Congress’s dominance for the next decade.

Revanth Reddy emphasized that the upcoming Lok Sabha elections would serve as a referendum on his government’s performance, expressing satisfaction with the 100-day rule. He highlighted achievements such as the creation of 30,000 government job appointments, efforts to pay salaries on a fixed date, and opening access to the Secretariat for the common man. Additionally, he stressed efforts to ensure comprehensive development through initiatives like the Vibrant Telangana 2050 master plan. (INN)
