Kishan Reddy pays tributes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 101st birth anniversary

Hyderabad, Dec.25 (RAHNUMA): Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Thursday paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 101st birth anniversary by garlanding his portrait at the BJP Telangana state office.

The programme was attended by BJP State general secretaries Dr. N. Gautham Rao and Vemula Ashok, State secretary Baddam Maipal Reddy, senior leader Bandaru Vijayalakshmi and other party leaders.

Speaking to the media, Kishan Reddy said Vajpayee was a towering statesman, intellectual, poet, and visionary administrator who carved a unique place in Indian politics. He recalled that Vajpayee was the first Indian Prime Minister to address the United Nations in Hindi and demonstrated exemplary moral values by resigning after losing power by a single vote.

Highlighting Vajpayee’s contributions, Reddy said he transformed India into a nuclear power despite international pressure, launched landmark infrastructure projects like the ‘Golden Quadrilateral’, expanded rural road connectivity through “Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana”, strengthened education via Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, and provided housing to the poor through VAMBAY scheme. Vajpayee’s leadership during the Kargil conflict safeguarded national security and that his poems continue to inspire generations. “His life was fully dedicated to the nation, and he remains an eternal inspiration for the youth”, he noted.
